Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Game 3 Betting Preview
The Eastern Conference finals are set to continue on Saturday
night, September 19th. The Miami Heat are clearly playing with an edge in late
situations that the Boston Celtics have been unable to match, giving the Heat a
2-0 series lead. Whenever Boston is able to get out to a double-digit lead
early on, it seems to be an indication that it will wind up losing the game, as
that's happened twice now.

Miami never seems to cede to anybody, playing its tail off until
the final whistle. We saw coach Erik Spoelstra shrink his rotation in Game 2,
taking Kendrick Nunn and Andre Iguodala completely out of it for the second
half.
He's making championship-level adjustments to make sure his guys
stay locked in, knowing who needs to be out there.
This series is not looking too promising for the Celtics.
Betting the Under Is Playing it Safe
The over/under for Game 3 is set at 206 points, a modest number.
If this was a regular-season game, the teams would likely crush the total,
given that all 30 teams in the NBA averaged 100 points per game or better. But
when the playoffs get going and things get tough, the defensive intensity picks
up.
Even with Boston having three guys that can fill it up as scorers,
the Celtics can't break Miami's defense enough times to be able to score
effectively. The two teams combined for 207 points in Game 2, after putting 231
total points on the board in Game 1 (including overtime). It's safer to assume
that the defense will be better than the offense again.

In Miami's case, it doesn't have any automatic scorers from the
perimeter except for Duncan Robinson. With Jimmy Butler constantly making the
smart play and never the selfish one, Miami won't exactly dominate on
offense.
Every player they use is capable of getting hot, but they are out
there just as much for defensive purposes. It's for that reason that they won't
be scoring much more than they did in Game 2.
Both of these teams will be hungry in Game 3. Boston will be
trying to get a better result and finally pick up a win.
For Miami, it wants to keep things going and push to a 3-0 series
advantage. Miami hasn't been battle-tested yet, pushing the top-seeded
Milwaukee Bucks out in five games. Don’t believe me? Check out the NBA
scores.
But the Celtics had to deal with the pesky defending champion
Toronto Raptors and barely got out of that series. But they did, and here they
are. It's time for Boston to step up.
Looking at the Spread
The Celtics will be 2.5-point favorites, marking them as the
public's choice for the third time in a row. Miami is not by any means the
underdog anymore, but it seems that it still is in the eyes of the online sportsbooks.
We'll see if Boston can finally give its betting fans something to
be happy about.
Make Sure to Bet on Boston
When all is said and done, the Celtics will pick up their first
win of the series, cutting Miami's lead in half. It's not possible to do
anything if you're down 0-3 to this Heat team. So Boston will finally get it
right and win by three-plus points.
Boston will pick up a 104-97 win in Game 3.
